Overview
I-Cost is the first project cost system available for corporate
intranets. It combines powerful features with a simple web interface,
resulting in the best project cost measurement system available.
Information in I-Cost is global - files can be used for specific
projects or for enterprise-wide purposes.
1. Structure Files: Hierarchical files are used to summarize
costs (like a WBS). I-Cost supports an unlimited number of structures
that can be attached to the Control Account, tasks or resource
levels.

Code Files: User-defined fields that are used for filtering.
I-Cost supports an unlimited number of codes that can be attached
to the Control Account, tasks or resource levels.
3. Rate Files: Rate files can contain an unlimited number
of rates that can be escalated over any period of time.
4. Flexible Resource Tool: Using I-Cost’s Resource Tool,
you can build your own calculations for budgeting and/or pricing.
Each line item can be added, multiplied, divided or subtracted
from another line item. With this flexibility, I-Cost can match
any company’s cost structure.
Budgeting:
I-Cost’s budgeting interface is intuitive and easy to use. It uses
a tree structure for navigating through control accounts and work
packages. Budgeting is conducted in a spreadsheet environment, making
it easy to build and edit cost calculations. The budgeting interface
can be customized to suit specific users’ needs. Unique algorithms
allow any line item in the budget spreadsheets to be back calculated.
In other words, enter dollars and ‘back calculate’ hours or vice
versa. Forecasts and actual costs can be viewed from the same budgeting
interface. Cost information can be accessed anytime, anywhere.
ANSI EVMS Standards: I-Cost supports all standard, earned
value techniques. This ensures objective performance measurements
that suit any situation. Milestones are automatically weighted to
match the resource spread.
Forecasting: I-Cost supports all of the standard calculated
forecasts. It also allows for manual forecasting. As needed, forecasts
can be respread and/or frozen. I-Cost is so flexible it can support
any processes and procedures with no need for change in a companies
standard operating procedures.
Schedule Integration: With I-Cost, you can integrate project
schedules for automated statusing, resource loads and reporting.
It is easy to discover what is driving schedule variances using
I-Cost’s integrated reports.
Easy Month-End Process: The month-end process for statusing
is presented in the order in which events happen during month end.
Flexible
Reporting: I-Cost reports can drill down to any degree of detail.
Unlimited levels of information can be examined. Subtotals can be
color coded for quick reference. All reports can be saved in HTML
or Excel format. I-Cost’s reports make it easier for companies to
comply with the ANSI- EVMS standard.
Virtual Manager’s Notebooks: Virtual notebooks provide managers
with easy access to key reports. I-Cost reports can be automatically
e-mailed to managers, providing immediate access to critical information.
Cost Classes And Reporting Sets: With I-Cost, it is easy
to create “what-if” scenarios. You can attach rate files and budget
changes and create reports using company-specific syntax.
Web
Centers - Using I-Cost, users and/or teams can create project
Web pages. Drag-and-drop document sharing and links to projects
and processes make it easy to share project information.
Automatically Track Corrective Actions: Track project action
items and corrective measures using an action item database with
automated e-mail.
